Founder & Creative Director: Pam Hulme
Pam Hulme is a composer, organist and conductor based in Berlin (Germany) and Yorkshire (UK). Her work extends the possibilities of acoustic instruments using aspects of electronic and urban music. Pam often works with organ and live-electronics, both as a loop artist and composer of fixed electro-acoustic works, remixing classical organ repertoire, and exploring the surface of sound itself. This aspect of her work was the inspiration for Metamorphosis: Urban-Organ, born in 2011 out of a series of outreach workshops with rappers in London, reimagining grime with pipe organ and electronics.
In Berlin, Pam works as Kantorin of Friedrichshain-South (Boxhagen-Stralau & St. Markus parishes), as well as being Choral Director of Pfingstkirche. In the UK she is Creative Director of NewYVC youth choir in London, a member of the RCO Academic Board, an Associate of the Yorkshire Sound Women Network, and conducts Enodamus chamber choir. She holds ARCO and CME diplomas in organ and choral conducting. After studying Music (BA) and Musicology (MA) at the University of Bristol, Pam trained as a teacher (PGCE) and worked for over a decade as Head of Music in East London, whose vibrancy and cultural diversity continue to inspire her. Between 2017 - 2019 Pam completed an MA by Research at the University of Huddersfield, with the title: Perception as compositional material in live looping and organ with electronics. She is currently carrying out further studies at the Evangelische Hochschule fuer Kirchenmusik in Halle.

Eine Faszination mit Klangfarben war immer präsent für Pam. Geboren 1979 in Nordengland, mit zwölf ist sie Kirchenmusikerin ihres Dorfes geworden. Nach ihrer BA Studium in Musik und MA in Musikwissenschaft (Bristol Universität) hatte sie eine zwölf Jährige Karriere als Pädagogin in Ost-London. In diesem wunderbaren Schmelztiegel unterschiedlicher Menschen, Kulturen und Musikstile hatte Pam noch vielfältiger Gelegenheiten für Weiterbildung, nicht nur mit klassischer Musik, sondern auch mit Weltmusik, Elektronik und ‚Urban Music’. In dieser Zeit hat sie auch ihre Britische Diplome in Orgel und Chorleitung erreicht [ARCO - Associate Royal College of Organists & CME Artist Teacher]. Seit 2014 wohnt Pam teilweise in Berlin, wo sie seit 2015 als Chorleiterin der Pfingstgemeinde tätig ist, und ist seit 2020 Kantorin der südlichen Friedrichshain Gemeinden (Boxhagen-Stralau und St. Markus).
Pam ist aktiv als Komponistin und führt oft mit Orgel, Stimme, und Elektronik auf. Sie hat Orgel & Live Looping als neue Aufführungspraxis entwickelt und hat es 2017-2019 an der Huddersfield Universität im England weiter im Bereich Komposition zum folgenden Thema geforscht: 'Perception as compositional material in live looping and organ with electronics.' In England leitet sie den Enodamus-Kammerchor, ist Creative Director des NewYVC-Jugendchors in London, Mitglied des Academic Board der 'Royal College of Organists', und Associate Artist der 'Yorkshire Sound Women Network'.
Für Pam bleibt das 'Metamorphosis: Urban Organ' Projekt sehr bedeutsam, weil es ihre Fähigkeiten als Organistin, Komponistin und Pädagogin zusammen mit ihrer Liebe fuer Urban Musikstile schließt, und es gibt aktuelle Projekte sowohl in Berlin, als auch im England. Neben ihrer professionellen Tätigkeiten studiert Pam aktuell weiter im Bereich Kirchenmusik an der Evangelischen Hochschule fuer Kirchenmusik in Halle.
